China Export and Import Bank increase Africa railway construction investment

In May 11th, Chinese Export and Import Bank signed a loan agreement with the Ministry of finance of Kenya in the Kenya capital of Nairobi. According to the agreement, China import and export bank will provide $3.6 billion to support government of Kenya to build railway from Mombassa to capital Nairobi.

Mombassa - Nairobi railway project is the largest amount of monomer project for China Export and Import Bank provided to Kenya, the length of railway main line is 472 kilometers, is the first section of East Africa big artery, the railway will be built by China railway Luqiao Engineering Co. Ltd., will use the Chinese railway standard design. The project will enable the Mombasa - Nairobi transit time from more than 10 hours shorten to 4 hours, the railway will become an important access to the sea of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sultan Africa inland countries, will have important meaning to promote the East African economic integration cooperation
